Visiondecor...above and beyond

First, let's talk about the table and chairs we ordered and then I will talk a little bit...maybe alot... about the order and shipping process. We were excited to see this table and chairs on Amazon. We have a little eating nook off the kitchen and this table is perfect for that spot. We had been looking for a similar table for weeks including venturing out to several local furniture stores. Nothing really matched what we needed in size, color, and functionality until we saw this on Amazon. We liked the fact that the table also had an extension piece in the middle to give us more space when needed. However, we are happy with just the "normal" size without the extension. Putting together the table and chairs was no problem. Actually, the chairs were a bit more challenging than the table. All four chairs took me about three hours and the table about one hour. The hardest part was unpacking it all and finding somewhere to dump all the cardboard, bubble wrap, and styrofoam. The items are made of quality wood excpet for the top of the table which is a combo of wood and veneer. The chairs are very sturdy...I'm a big guy so there was a little concern about that but no issues so far. We love the Cappuccino finish but be warned, it can scratch fairly easy. We went to a local fabric store and purchased a mat type fabric (black) which we cut into the shape of the table. It actually works real well without taking away from the look of the table. Most furnitue sales people we talked to discouraged us at purchasing a "dark" colored table because of how easy it can scratch. However, I think we solved that issue with the material and even have seen others use a nice plexiglass/glass piece to protect the top...definitely worth doing that.So let's talk about the delivery and condition of the table and chairs. First, just after I ordered the table and chairs, I decided (my bad) to look at all the reviews. I was a little...ok...I was a lot aprehensive about what I got myself into after reading a few uncomplimentary reviews for Visiondecor and the furniture. I became really concerned after my credit card had been charged but I had no updates on the status of my order. However, those concerns were unfounded and it's too bad that other reviews have unfairly criticized (IMHO) Visiondecor. For me, I judge a company on quality and customer service. I am always willing to pay a few extra bucks for quality and customer service and Visiondecor did not disappoint. As I mentioned earlier, although my order was confirmed (placed on August 21) and was assigned a tracking number (assigned August 24) with their shipping company (Fed Ex), I was unable to see any report on delivery status. I was notified that my products would be delivered between August 30 and September 4th. When I did not see any status report, I contacted Visiondecor (August 29th) and they responded within 8 hours letting me know that there was a "problem" at the warehouse and that my shipment would be delayed. I then e-mailed customer service (August 30) regarding concerns about delivery date and asked for clarification on the "warehoue issue". I received a reply the next day (August 31)stating that there was indeed a warehouse problem but they had "just spoken to the warehouse manager" and that my order would be shipped that day. Well, it was indeed shipped out that day and everything arrived just two days late on September 6th.As I mentioned earlier, unpacking everything was the biggest challenge. Based on some previous reviews, we wanted to make sure that everything was in perfect condition before the assembly process. Unfortunately, one of the table legs was pretty badly damaged and beyond my ability to repair. As a result, I had to email Visiondecor and file a claim on the damaged leg. I sent the e-mail on Friday September 7th (I did send pictures of the damaged leg and packing material in which the legs were wrapped) and received a reply regarding the claim on Monday, September 10th. Visiondecor had already set up the claim number and was in the process of sending me a replacement leg, no questions asked. I received the replacement leg on Saturday, September 15 in perfect condition.That is the story. In a perfect world, the table and chairs would have arrived on time and in perfect condition. However, there is an element of risk when you order by mail and although things weren't perfect, Visiondecor did an excellent job in communicating and responding to all my concerns and questions. Each time I had a new customer service rep attend to my emails and requests and the bottom line is that they took care of their customer. We love the table and chairs and would purchase again from Visiondecor in a "New York minute". They get a four star review based on the product and customer service. I would have given them a five if everything had been delivered as expected.

I love the table, excellent quality, but I thought the chairs came with it. This was something I overlooked, but I order the chairs and can't wait for them to arrive!

This table is absolutely beautiful. It took almost 45 minutes to unpack. there was absolute caution present in the way it was shipped. it went together very easily (30 minutes). a great product.
